I had never heard “A Small Victory” before Nicole requested it (see above), and now I realize I’ve been sleeping on Faith No More. Until now, I only knew two things about them: Somebody in the group was gay**, and they were the band that gave us “Epic,” a #9 hit on the Hot 100 that still sounds massive.
“Epic” was on Faith No More’s 1989 album The Real Thing, and in 1992 they released Angel Dust, which reached the top 10 in America and produced the #1 alt-rock hit “Midlife Crisis.” The album also featured a cover of The Commodores’ “Easy” that hit #3 in the UK and got all the way to #1 in Australia.
