There were eight singles released from Fly, the second major label album by The Chicks (or The Dixie Chicks, as they were called when Fly was released.) Six of those eight singles reached the top ten, and every damn one of them was brilliant. In fact, Fly is one of the all-time greatest country albums. It captures an astonishing group of musicians operating at their peak as both performers and writers. I’ve been listening to it frequently for 24 years, and I’m still not weary of it. I never will be.
