I want you to do something for me. It’s important, and it’s for science. I want you to sing along to the chorus of “Shake the Sugar Tree,” and I want you to track your mood when you belt out the phrase “til’ I feel your love fallin’… aaaaallllll around me.”

”But Mark. I’m at work! I can’t possibly sing along with—”
”YES YOU CAN.”

And seriously… aren’t you in a better mood now? I know you are, because the melody of that chorus is made with angel feathers. If my grant money comes through, then my research will prove that singing “Shake the Sugar Tree” is a better mood elevator than eating dark chocolate or having sex.
