I don’t know what “Walking the Dog” is about, and I do not care. When Rufus Thomas growls out the lyrics in his husky voice, with those horns blaring behind him and that funky bass putting stank on everything, analysis becomes immaterial. I shake my butt. I wave my finger. That’s meaning enough.
